Alison McGregor, Ph.D.
Alison McGregor has been helping professionals improve their accents for over 15 years. In the past ten years, her clients have included professionals from IBM, DELL, Freescale, AMD, McDonalds Corporation, and UT Business School.
Alison’s exceptional knowledge and coaching abilities stem from her education, experiences, and personality. In her Master’s program, Alison received her initial training in accent modification from Howard Edwards, a speech pathologist. She later pursued a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in speech comprehensibility and adult learning. By living abroad for five years (in Germany, Taiwan, and Japan), Alison gained first hand experience in the challenges of cross-cultural communication. To her ESL instruction and accent modification coaching, she brings a personable and practical nature, a passion for what she does, and an optimistic outlook on life.
Andrea is a classically trained linguist with first hand experience in learning and teaching new languages. She has studied French, Arabic, Czech, and Thai. Andrea has a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and French from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s in Education with a specialization in ESL, and a TEFL certification. Her past clients have included professionals from ACS Group, Dell, IBM, McDonald’s Corporation, UT Law School, and Vistaprint.
With six years of experience in accent modification, teaching English as a foreign language overseas, and teaching English as a second language in the United States Andrea has successfully helped her clients reach their communication goals.
